ECO-RURAL4STEM in numbers

ABOUT THE GROUP
Elementary school
Elementary school Zrinskih Nuštar is a school customized to the needs of its students, teachers and the parents. It combines dedicated hard work and motivated mutual cooperation. It has over 300 students and tries on a daily basis to tolerate the differences and respect the individuality of every student (their interests, skills and needs) while enabling the students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for the lifelong learning. Following its mission, as well as its motto ''With love and will in each new day!'', our school works dedicatedly to continuously invest in the competences of its teachers and other educational staff in order to provide its students with an education tailored to the age in which we live. Through the EKO-RURAL4STEM project, while strengthening its own capacities, Elementary school Zrinskih Nuštar will create as many as 7 new programs of extracurricular activities for its students in the STEM field.
Competence Centre Ltd. for research and development
Competence Centre Ltd. for research and development was established with the aim of strengthening the innovation potential of the Vukovar-Srijem County’s economy. This aim is achieved through the implementation of research projects of a developmental or production nature and the development of competencies in the field of bioeconomy. Due to the experience in implementing international projects aimed at digitization and competence development, Competence Centre Ltd. for research and development in the EKO-RURAL4STEM project will participate in project management activities as well as the organization of visiting examples of good practice in Vukovar-Srijem County and the organization of education "Examples of good practice in forestry with an emphasis on digitalization" for students and teachers.
Agricultural and Forestry school Vinkovci
Agricultural and Forestry school Vinkovci is a secondary vocational school that educates students for the needs of the Vukovar-Srijem County and beyond in the fields of agriculture, forestry, nutrition and agricultural mechanization. Through the project, the Agricultural and Forestry school Vinkovci will participate in the activities of creating extracurricular programs for the students of the Elementary school Zrinskih Nuštar by holding the necessary training for the educational staff of the elementary school, and through mentoring, they will transfer their knowledge and skills in the fields of agriculture, forestry and meteorology. The special feature of the project is that it encourages students to develop STEM skills through ecology, which will be helped by the partnership with the Agricultural and Forestry school Vinkovci . Agricultural and Forestry school Vinkovci is also the Regional Competence Center in the agricultural sector, and the project was financed through the European Fund for Regional Development.
Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Electronic Systems
Through the project, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Electronic Systems will participate in the organization of a study visit of teachers to Trondheim and in the preparation of STEM workshops intended to strengthen the STEM skills of teachers and other educational workers. The Department of Electronic Systems of the University of Norway has a rich experience in the implementation of scientific research projects financed by the Horizon EU program. The aforementioned partnership will contribute to the transfer of knowledge necessary for training in STEM fields, familiarization with examples of good practice and exchange of experience, i.e., bilateral cooperation as a whole.
