Visit to the Forestry Museum in Bošnjaci and Wood-Technology Centre in Gradište

Our pupils who attend extracurricular programme “About the forest, in the forest, for the forest”, visited the Forestry Museum in Bošnjaci where they were introduced to the rich history of forestry in our county as well as the importance of safeguarding nature and biodiversity in our forests. They learned about basic principles of nurture and management of forests, about precious species of trees which grow in our area as well as about animals living in our ecosystem.

After cutting timber for commercial purposes, the timber continues its path to wood processing companies, and our pupils continued their trip to Wood-Technology Centre in Gradište where they were introduced to processes of wood drying and processing. Our partner Competence Centre presented state-of-the-art technologies used in wood sector.

Pupils gained an insight in the whole life cycle of one tree; from planting and growth in forest to creation of new wood products.
